George Stines Foundation

The George Stines Foundation was founded by Dr. Alfred V. Stines in 2000 in an effort to give free relief to the people of Haiti. Dr. Alfred Stines and his daughter, Dr. Michelle Stines, along with his family and many other doctors and volunteers take bi-monthly trips to Haiti and treat up to 90 to 200 people daily for the eight days they stay.

Dr. Stines is a dentist in the United States but in Haiti and also treats everything from prosthetic eyes to burn victims. He has been funding his own efforts of building clinics in Haiti for well over 30 years. Alfred currently owns and operates three clinics in Haiti. One is in Port-au-Prince, one in Petionville and the third up in the mountains of Jacmel.

Dr. Stines has been practicing dentistry for 42 years. He graduated from University of Detroit in 1960. He is an active member of the Michigan Dental Association and the American Dental Association. Dr. Stines lives in Howell with his wife and three children, enjoys exercise and devotes much of his time to the George Stines Foundation in Haiti. Dr. Stines is fluent in French, Creole and Spanish.

In 2006, the George Stines Foundation reached remote areas of Haiti by creating a seven-chair mobile clinic completely equipped for dental hygiene, restorative dentistry, extractions and surgery.
